Remember ladies, you cannot pour from an empty fountain. It’s a faith journey y’all!

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.  If you know someone who is suffering with depression, mental illness or suicidal thoughts, please assist them with getting the appropriate care.  Mental health and illness are not subjects we should take lightly.

In 2018, I am proud to serve as a Pearl Ambassador for National Wear Your Pearls Day, which is December 15th.  In the weeks to come, I’ll be highlighting Mental Health facts, events to support Mental Health initiatives, and interviewing individuals on this topic.  As an educator, I am taking on a task to have discussions with our teachers to help them better understand the students we serve and how schools and districts can be of more assistance and provide the appropriate level of support.  If you are interested in learning more about National Wear Your Pearls Day, please visit National Wear Your Pearls Day.

Why One Faith Journey: Episode 2

Well ladies, I’m still on the journey as of April 30th.  Check out this podcast to find out why I started the journey.  I hope you are inspired in some way!  In the podcast I mentioned my friend Tonja Davis and I totally MESSED up her youtube channel name (forgive me Tonja).  Below are three blogs/vlogs to follow and I hope to connect with these ladies soon to put them on the calendar for May, June and July.

For those of you in a relationship, wanting to get married or are already married, check out Unspoken Vows. Hands down, this is the BEST blog on marriage.  Here you can find advice on so many topics and even things for you and your mate to apply to your relationship/courtship, marriage, etc.

If you are looking to grow in many areas of your life, check out this new blog I started following, Mz. Imperfect, where you can find some encouragement and advice on life, health, and join a conversation with someone who keeps it all the way real!

For you parents who need a pick me up and some real faith parenting advice check out T. Lyn Compositions on Youtube and subscribe to her channel.  You will laugh and walk away with some thought-provoking moments about your parenting journey.  She is a minister, writer, speaker and author.

I can’t wait to connect with these ladies and I hope you join me in following them too!  Remember, it’s a faith journey y’all!  Be inspired and have faith!

P.S. If you are not a subscriber, you are missing out on some good stuff.  Follow me on Twitter and Instagram @1faithjourney and tell your girlfriends too.

On Faith & Leadership: Episode 1

Episode 1_ On Faith & Leadership

Y’all, this week I’m having my pajama party!  Not sure what I’m talking about. Well, listen to this first (many more to come) podcast I conducted last week with one of my favorite leaders, Dr. Coletrain.  During our brief conversation, she shared some personal challenges as a leader and some strategies she continues to use become better.  Boy oh boy did she keep it real, but my huge take away from our conversation is that leadership and faith cannot be separated.  And you have to learn how to balance the act daily.  While every day will never be the same, stay true to who you are and keep the faith.  Enjoy!

“Welcome to One Faith’s Journey’s first podcast.  I am just so excited that you all are here to listen to me today talk about faith journey with a leader.  It is my sincere prayer that you are going to gain some insight from our topic on today, which is on faith and leadership.  Today to share this exciting journey with me is an inspiring educational leader, Dr. Robin Coletrain.  Dr. Coletrain is a principal of a middle school.  She is passionate about growing teachers and students and I’m just really happy that she set aside some time from her busy schedule to chat with us today. So let’s jump in.”
